ABOUT SAMSUNG TIZEN AND NAVORI:
Navori initiated a collaboration with Samsung HQ to build and release a software solution suitable for signage professionals on Tizen.
Samsung released its 4th generation of SoC based on Tizen OS.
Tizen is a Linux derived OS promoted by Samsung and Intel. It was initially used to power SMART TV’s (consumer displays) then progressed with a professional range in 2016.
Samsung professional displays are available either with an embedded SoC player or a SBB-SS08FL1 external media player for video walls, both powered by Tizen 4.
Samsung delivers an SDK with a pre-built playback engine, in which every software company must use. This component is primarily intended for Audio Visual web based applications and comes with limitations in terms of performances and reliability, preventing large scale or professional digital signage operations.
Navori developed a proprietary playback engine featuring professional performances and 99% of QL Player features.
QL FEATURES EXCLUSIVE TO TIZEN (v.s. Android & WINDOWS):
Ability for a HTML5 playing to have access to Player’s tags using a Web API. A unique HTML5 media can adapt the played content.
HTML5 content can access all data feed and media synchronized by Navori Data feed Manager (Facebook, Twitter, Google Calendar, RSS, XML) via web API. Navori handles all data syncing and parsing, the HTML will handle the look and feel.
SoC display remote control: Magic info RM is a licensed tool provided by Samsung, enabling the ability to remotely control and maintain displays.
